Hello again!
When we last spoke in May we had just launched our new menu, our first sour beer, our new tables for outside had arrived – thank you Mr Moss – and Mr Watson was as bonkers as ever. So what’s new I hear you say?
We are about to install our 5th fermenter. Back in the day when we were planning the brewery we had thought a 5th vessel would be in by around 2018/19 but here we are – still can’t brew beer quick enough. The new vessel will increase capacity by 20% so we will have even more beers to offer.
Our late summer menu goes live on 1st Sept. Don’t panic – all the faves will stay but I know for a fact our news pies will keep you all happy.
Our Sunday menu has grown – it’s not just our Sunday School Roasts on offer – we have pies, salads and a delicious range of desserts and cheese boards and of course, our dog menu will stay.
We have 2 more ‘wins’ under our belt – 2nd place at Alton for Big Casino and 3rd at Southampton Beer Fest with Bone Dry all thanks to our super star brewers – Aid, Ned, Tom and young Jamie. If you fancy a brew tour or tutored tasting, please contact Mitch at brewing@dancingmanbrewery.co.uk and he will get you booked in and talk about options.
Canning continues and we now have Pilgrims, Last Waltz and Big Casino in stubby little coke can size for you to enjoy with us or take home.
Our new stone floor has been laid downstairs and we are almost ready to introduce our new bespoke furniture which we think will make downstairs even better with more of a bar feel. Tom our 2nd brewer and incredible sculptor – have you seen our robots and animal heads? – has built us a BBQ – we are now planning to have impromptu do’s whenever the weather is good so keep an eye on the web site. The next planned BBQ is for Saturday and Sunday over the August Bank Holiday – times are to be confirmed.
You may have noticed that it’s very difficult to book a table in the restaurant most weekends – really sorry about this but it seems that all the very best people want to hold their wedding reception with us! We have hosted around 80 now and this year is full – next year is filling and a few weeks ago we took our first booking for 2019! Please check our online diary to see when we are open for pie.
It’s been a really busy year – most of my time is taken up with organising weddings, parties and corporate do’s – all of which I love – and we are now focusing on events for us – details will be released as soon as we have made up our minds. We are discussing food pairing evenings, winter BBQ’s, Father Christmas and lots of other stuff.
As most of you are aware our plans to host music events was scuppered by our noise abatement order. I have an idea and would really appreciate your input – we would like to contact as many busker type musicians as possible and create a sort of busking event whereby each performer gets a turn. If you know anyone who is interested, please ask them to go to our website and fill in a booking form. We plan for all artists to play – quietly – but at our in house events and maybe even Sundays?
On the dog front – Mr Watson is doing well – it’s just over a year now since we collected him from the dog’s home. You will often see him wondering about the place or torturing guests with his tennis balls. If you see him doing a sort of moon walk dance with stones or rocks its due to his ‘issues’ and obsession with the things. If you go up into our office you will find a fine collection of confiscated rocks that we have to hide as he barks at them and rolls them around – which is – frankly – really annoying.
We have lots of doggie visitors – some who Mr Woo is very taken with and others – not so much.
If you bring your dog to visit us could you take a pic whilst in the building – or outside and send it in to us so that we can create a friends of Mr W page?
Well – I think that’s enough gabbing for now.
Enjoy the sunshine and hopefully see you soon – don’t forget the Bank Holiday BBQ.
Cheers
Mandy x
