How do!
What a lovely summer we are all having here at Dancing Man!
The BBQs been-a-sizzlin’, great music-a-playin’, and the beer pumps have been pullin’ like a milk maids elbow!
More BBQ action coming up on Saturday and Sunday the 27th and 28th of August (bank holiday weekend) with live music from 3, and our outside Big Casino bar. For more details keep your eyes on FB and Twitter.
We have been getting our teeth into some great music lately which has culminated in one of our wonderful barmen, Graham Poole, coming up with a great playlist called “Club Sandwich”. It’s basically great music to eat Club Sandwiches to. It includes great stuff from oldies like The Lemonheads , to classic sixties tunes, to more current indie rockers like Kurt Vile. Great stuff, and our Club Sandwich sales have gone through the roof!
On the beer front we have been having a rare old time. This month sees the return of two legends. First on cask we will be welcoming back Congo Driftwood. Our 4.2% Mango and Papaya Pale Ale is packed full of juicy hops and Caribbean fruit at a session strength. What more could you want to finish the final stretch of the summer hols of with? I’ll tell you what! Pole Axed IPA 6.7% on keg, that’s what! It’s the first time we have brewed it at the Woolhouse and we recon it will blow your hair back. Both will be available from early to mid August.
Now we are all thrilled that you like our beer but do you have to drink it so freakin’ fast?????? Of course you do! And we don’t really mind. In fact we have ordered another fermenting tank so we can make even more beer to tickle your tastebuds with. Please forgive us if there are only 4/5 of our beers available sometimes. We try very hard to keep up, and another tank is gonna help for sure.
Having spare pumps and taps does however mean that we can showcase some great guest beers from our favourite breweries. On keg this month look out for the first instalment of Tapstone kegs. Sea Monster and Sledge Hammer. And the one we are mega excited about is Cloudwater’s V6 DIPA. This promises to be a remarkable beer if the V3,4,& 5 were anything to by. There will be very limited amounts of V6 available so don’t pass up the chance to try it when you can. As far as cask beers go, expect lots from Moor, Tapstone, Vibrant forest, Thornbridge, Arbor, Bristol Beer Factory and Burning Sky. A sublime selection I’m sure you’ll agree. As well as these and our own cask and keg beer, don’t forget that our cans are also available from the brewery, Bitter Virtue, 7bone Burger, Cask and Corks, Beers and Bottles and Mettricks coffee shops.
We have also started stocking very local and extremely tasty Biltong from our friends at The Happy Biltong Company. For those of you that haven’t tried this stuff, you are missing a whole world of goodness! Come and see for yourself.
Anyway, the beer is bubbling in the kettle so I have to go. White IPA with DR Rudi hops today but more about that next time.
Take it easy folks.
